Planning Department

The GCS Planning Department is primarily responsible for:

• Coordination and development of annual and long-range school level projections;
  
  
• Coordination of the Long-range School Facilities Master Plan;
  
  
• School attendance boundary development and optimization;
  
  
• Mapping of GCS attendance boundaries;
  
  
• Maintenance of the GCS street assignment database;
  
  
• Project-specific data and information analysis and mapping; and
  
  
• Project-level responsibilities and coordination with other GCS departments and staff.

Members of the Planning team also serve as liaisons between Guilford County Schools and various state and local government agencies and professional firms, in order to keep abreast of state and local trends and issues that have an impact on the district’s schools.
