• GCS Read 30 Logo

  • To help our students continue to grow their literacy skills and support changes in the classroom, GCS students are encouraged to read 30 minutes each day at home. They can read any materials that interest them, including our free district eBooks available through each school's Destiny Discover library catalog, as long as they’re reading!

Reading challenges over winter, spring and summer breaks offer students incentive to continue their reading when they are not in school. Contact your School Library Media Coordinator for more information.

2021 Summer Reading Challenge

  • Summer Reading Challenge: Fun for everyone!

GCS wants you to keep reading over Summer Break! Record the minutes you are reading over the break. When summer vacation ends, turn in a reading log to your school library media coordinator for an opportunity to earn a ticket to Kersey Valley.

    Kersey Valley Live youradventure!

Students must read at least 900 minutes to earn the prize! That's only 30 minutes a day for 30 days! Give a signed reading log to your school library media coordinator by September 1.
