DonorsChoose Process and Approvals
The district’s only approved crowdfunding platform is easy to use and an excellent resource to help fund classroom projects.
Since the district began partnering with DonorsChoose in 2005, GCS teachers have received more than $1.75 million to fund projects in their classrooms.
Who can participate in DonorsChoose?
Teachers or other school staff members who spend at least 75% of their day directly with students are eligible.
GCS requires educators interested in DonorsChoose to complete a virtual one-hour DonorsChoose training prior to posting projects.
Once training is completed, teachers are approved to use DonorsChoose for the entire year. While principal approval is still required for projects, teachers completing training will no longer have to submit online project approval and outcome forms for each project to the Grants Acquisition Office.
