As Guilford County Schools (GCS) begins the important work of reopening schools, we realize that sharing accurate, timely and relevant information is a priority. Our students, families, staff and the community should be able to receive and access well-timed information that can impact decisions many are making regarding the reopening of schools and COVID-19.

As the 47^th largest district in the country, GCS serves 73,000 students and their families and employs approximately 10,000 in a county with a population of more than 537,000 citizens. It is a huge task to effectively communicate with so many in a timely and useful manner.

Thanks to our community partners, the GCS Information Ambassadors, we are able to share important information with a larger segment of the community. Our Information Ambassadors receive information from GCS and then, using their methods of communication, share the information with their memberships, congregations and networks. This effort supplements and enhances our communication efforts so that we can reach as many community members as possible.
