GCS is Asking for Device Donations for Students
-
Guilford County Schools (GCS) leaders are asking for the community’s help. District officials estimate that about 5,000 GCS students still need a device as an unprecedented school year kicks off in remote learning.
The district has ordered more than 79,000 new devices, nearly enough for every student, teacher and instructional support staff member. However, due to world-wide production and shipping delays, the devices won’t be delivered for several weeks. Even with this large purchase, GCS will still have to find the dollars to order an additional 3,900 laptops to truly become a one-to-one district.
To support students now, GCS is asking for donations of devices or monetary donations, so devices may be purchased.
Drop-off Locations to Donate Devices
-
GCS is seeking gently used devices that are equipped with:
- internet access/wireless capabilities
- working camera
- two-way audio interface
- power charger
Devices can be donated at these Central Office locations:
