  • Welcome to Northwest High School!  I am delighted to be a part of the Northwest community this school year and look forward to working with our wonderful students, parents, and community members to ensure our legacy of all-around excellence continues.

Northwest High is renowned for our outstanding academic tradition and consistently ranks in the top school’s state and county wide.  This tradition has been developed by combining a caring and knowledgeable school staff with a community support and active parental involvement.

My educational journey began with earning my secondary social studies teaching certification at Duke University in 1995 as a History major.  I then got my first job at Northwest High School in 1995 as a social studies teacher along with coaching three sports.  During the eight years I was a social studies teacher, I taught Advance Placement European History, World History, Civics and Economics, and United States History.   In 2003, I was appointed the athletic director at Northwest High and served on several statewide committees with the North Carolina High School Athletic Association and North Carolina Athletic Directors Association.  I served on the teaching faculty for the NCADA leadership training courses along with being a trained mentor to younger athletic directors statewide.  I was selected as the NCADA Statewide Athletic Director of Excellence in 2019 and received the NCHSAA Charlie Adams Distinguished Service award in 2014.  I was also selected as the Northwest High School PTSA educator of the year in 2009.

I returned to higher education in 2018 attending North Carolina A&T State University obtaining my Masters of School Administration.  This led to a new job opportunity at Eastern Guilford High School for the 2019-2020 school year as an assistant principal.  At Eastern, I supervised the Math, World Language, and Cultural Arts Departments.

I was excited to return to Northwest High for the 2020-21 school year as an assistant principal.  For the 2022-23 school year, I will be the administrator for all students with last names beginning with A though F and will help supervise the science, physical education, and counseling departments.  It is my privilege to be able to work alongside such outstanding and dedicated educators along with our awesome students!

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my three children.  I also am an avid sports fan and root for the Duke Blue Devils and the teams from my childhood home in the Philadelphia area.
