Welcome to AP United States History (APUSH), Honors American History, and Honors Civic Literacy at Weaver Academy!
My name is Nadav Avital and I could not be more excited to be your teacher this year!
I began my teaching career in 2004 in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Greensboro in 2010. I joined this amazing school in 2020 and love working with the fantastic students and faculty that make up the special place that is Weaver Academy.
Here at Weaver, I teach the Advanced Placement United States History course (affectionately known as APUSH), Honors American History, and Honors Civic Literacy (i.e. Civics).
I earned my bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College - City University of New York and my master's from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
When I am not lesson planning, grading, teaching, writing college recommendations, tutoring, or reading history books (this summer I finished Eric Foner's The Story of American Freedom, John Meacham's The Soul of America, David McCulloch's The American Spirit (on tape), and another one by him, 1776)... I spend much of my time with my wife and two sons and general adventures around Greensboro and North Carolina, including soccer, cycling, guitar, and chess playing (proficient, at best, in both), and attending as many free college sports games as possible.
Please never hesitate to reach out about any item at all.
Looking forward to a terrific year together,
