Mrs. Megan Putnam

Hi!  I am your proud Assistant Principal, Megan Putnam.  I was born and raised in Hickory, NC.  I moved to the High Point/Greensboro area in the summer of 2009 with my late husband, Robbie.  I have been an educator for 17 years and this is my fourth year at Montlieu.  Prior to becoming an Assistant Principal, I taught middle school math and was a math coach, Personalized Learning Facilitor, and curriculum/instructional facilitator in elementary and middle school settings.  I have an Undergraduate degree in Mathematics from UNC-Charlotte and a Masters Degree in Middle School Education from East Carolina University.  I received my School Administrator license from Appalachian State University and I am currently pursing my Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership at High Point University.

My favorite parts about Montlieu are the family atmosphere we create and the accountability we hold for all staff and scholars.  We pride ourselves on building relationships with students and their families.  Having positive working relationships with students and families is the key to student success.  It takes a village to raise a child and we want and need to collaborate with our families to ensure that each student is successful academically, socially and emotionally.

Besides from serving the amazing Montlieu community, its families and its scholars, I enjoy planning events, traveling, attending/watching sporting events, attending concerts and spending time with my two children, Raegan (11) and Peyton (9).  You may see them around campus from time to time.  They keep me very busy outside of school, participating in dance and any sport with a ball.  My favorite college teams are the University of Tennessee and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!  Go VOLS!  Go HEELS!  I enjoy all types of music...Hip-Hop, Rap, Country, Pop, Rock...you name it, I have a song in that genre on my playlist.  However, I am an 80s/90s/2000s music lover at heart.  I love the beach and the mountains to unwind.  I enjoy Disney to have some fun!  My favorite color is yellow because it reminds me of sunshine and to always be open-minded and optimistic.

Go VOLS!
