Mr. George Green

Greetings Mendenhall Families! I am extremely excited to serve as your school principal for the upcoming school year, and many years to come. This is my second commitment of excellence to Mendenhall Middle School, and I look forward to our partnership in doing whatever it takes for all students to experience success, both in school and in society. Previously, from January 2013 until October 2016, I served in the role of assistant principal of the school, before being promoted to principal of Shadybrook Elementary in High Point. Here is a little bit more of information about me.

I am a dedicated educator with 24 years of experience, all with Guilford County Schools. I started my teaching career as a 5th grade teacher at Foust Elementary School in 2000. Then I transitioned to Hairston Middle School in 2003, and served 10 years as a math and science teacher. I completed my Master of School Administration degree from North Carolina A&T State University in May of 2012. In January of 2013 I became an assistant principal at Mendenhall Middle School. After three and one-half years serving as an assistant principal, I became the principal of Shadybrook Elementary in High Point in October of 2016, and served there until the end of the 2020-2021 academic school year. In addition, I served as a fire support specialist (field artillery) with the North Carolina Army National Guard for six years while dually completing my undergraduate degree in Education from NC A&T.

I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, who happens to be a middle schooler this year as well. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, and playing golf year round!

I am happy and grateful to serve as your school leader and partner in education this year!
