The Alumni Band Will...

It is Homecoming time Alumni Band. Please read over all of the information carefully and reach out with any questions.

The COVID Mobile Truck will be able to test on 10/12/22 @6:00 PM at the Band Room. You must have your insurance card and a picture ID.

Deadline to Sign-up 9/6/2022

Objective: To provide stimulating and rememberable experiences for Alumni Band members at homecoming 2022 by offering homecoming options such as the homecoming parade, homecoming football game, and the tunnel, which are attractive, respectful, fun, and exciting, in order to increase Alumni Band participation by 10/14/2022 with a success rate of 70%.

More Information

Rules and Regulations:

• You must purchase a package in order to participate in the Alumni Band 2022. There will be no exceptions.
• The use of foul, disrespectful language, putting down scholars, or causing a problem or scene is not permitted. Anyone seen doing any of these things will be asked to remove themselves from the Alumni Band and the MBOT immediately. Also, you will not be allowed to return in the future.
• Everyone must have their own instrument. The use of Guilford County School’s Band Equipment is not allowed. Check Amazon; most instruments can be purchased for under $100.00. 
• It is the desire of the group that everyone participating attends all rehearsals. However, it is understood that some are out of town. If you are participating, you must attend at least one of the rehearsals.
• Packages must be picked up by or on Thursday, October 13, 2022. There will be no exceptions as no one will be available to pass out items on Friday. 
• In order to participate in the Alumni Band, you must show proof of full COVID vaccination or a negative test taken 48 hours prior to October 14, 2022.
• If you are aware of a recent exposure that you have had to COVID around homecoming, it is asked that you do not attend homecoming this year so as to keep others safe and healthy.
• The tunnel will take place on the track at the football field. In order to participate in the tunnel, you must have purchased a package and have a wristband on in order to get inside the gate. Others can watch and cheer from the stands.
• It is imperative that restrooms and any area that the Alumni Band is using at Dudley High School be kept in a neat and orderly manner. After a rehearsal, the room or area should look the exact same way that it did upon arrival.
• Do not give any directions to the scholars who are currently in the MBOT. If they have needs, the staff and the Band Boosters will take care of them. Please note, if you do see something that is unsafe, please alert Dr. Jackson immediately.
• In order to interact with the current scholars of the MBOT, you must have GSC Volunteer Clearance. If you do have this, please forward your clearance to Dr. Jackson. If you do not have this clearance, it is asked that you do not interact with the scholars in any manner. This is a huge safety issue and you will be asked to leave if you interact with scholars without the proper clearance. Link to GCS Approved Volunteer Application - https://www.gcsnc.com/Page/76709 
• Homecoming is about us all having the best time ever. Let us all be respectful to one another and also, be helpful when we can. If we follow the rules and regulations, we will have an amazing time!

Check in:

• Please check-in at the table that will be located outside of the back door of the band room immediately upon arrival.
• Please provide your state issue ID, COVID Card or Test, and any information that may be needed to complete your profile.
• Upon check-in, you will be given all of the items in the package and must sign for them.
• After check-in, you will be directed to the correct rehearsal area.

Homecoming Day:

• Report to the Band Room at 3:30 PM in an Alumni Band T-shirt and with a wristband on your wrist.
• Please report directly to the Alumni Band area. (Can get in a final rehearsal prior to the parade)
• Dinner will be served.
• An exact schedule will be provided closer to the homecoming.
• The parade will be first, then the game, lastly the tunnel.
• The Alumni Band will sit directly beside the MBOT at the game.
• Depending on the numbers, the Alumni Band may have to march along side of the MBOT. Songs for the parade will be sent out early.
• If we have enough instruments to have an actual band, Dr. Jackson will work with the group.
• Water and snacks (chips) will be provided at the game for the Alumni Band.
