Jackson's Jazz Panthers (Dudley High School Jazz Band)

Jackson's Jazz Panthers is a jazz band made up of wind and string instruments, percussion, and voice. The jazz band will rehearse and perform various styles of jazz: Big Band, New Orleans Jazz, BeBop, Cuban/Latin Jazz, and more. Scholars in the jazz band will learn to play alone and with others a varied repeitoire of music. They will learn the art of improvisation and self-expression on their instruments. The jazz band will also build self-confidence in the scholars by allowing them opportunities to display their talents for their families and fellow community members.
