FOR HIGH SCHOOL ONLY

Home school students that are in grades 9-12 may be eligible to enroll part-time (2 classes a day for block schools, 3 classes a day for traditional schools) and participate in athletics and other extracurricular activities. Contact the Student Assignment Office at 336-370-8303 for assistance with enrolling in your zoned school on a part-time basis.

For interscholastic athletics:

• The home school must be approved by the state.
• The student must have been enrolled in the home school for the previous 365 days.
• The student must be dual enrolled and attend classes for at least ½ of the school day (2 class periods for block schools, 3 classes for traditional schools) at the public school.
• Must attend at least one class in-person at the school.
• Must pass all classes taken with the public school.
• Must notify school admin at least 10 days prior to the start of the athletic season.
• Must remain continuously enrolled. If the home school student withdraws from the public high school, the 365 day clock starts over.
