Ms. Harris

Hi everyone! I am excited and honored to be teaching Biology and Earth/Environmental Science at T. Wingate Andrews High School! I have been an educator with Guilford County Schools since 2015, and this will be my 2nd year as a Red Raider. High school is such a unique time in our lives, and I love working with this age group, as students discover their own strengths and interests. It brings me joy to support you in reaching whatever goals you set! Throughout the semester, I am sure you will find that science is relatable, surprising, important, and pretty cool.

A little background info about me... I grew up in a small NC town, and moved to Greensboro in 2010 to attend UNCG. That's where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology, my teaching license, and a minor in Spanish. One of my most influential experiences was having the privilege of studying abroad in Mexico; it really opened my eyes to the diversity of our world, as well as the commonalities that can bring us together. That sense of community and interconnectedness is important to me, whether I am at work or not.

In my spare time I enjoy playing with my dog Stella and cat Milo, watching my favorite shows, and taking care of both house and garden plants (in some cases, that means learning how to keep them alive).
