Welcome to 8th Language Arts for the 2024-25 school year! This is my third year at Northwest Guilford Middle school and my 24th year in the classroom.  A long time ago, I graduated from California State University, Chico and later went on to earn my multiple-subject teaching credential. Through the years, I have taught in three different states and in many different subjects: Math, Social Studies, ELA, ESL, P.E. I consider myself to be a life-long learner and love to inspire all students!

I am from northern California, born raised, and moved to North Carolina nine years ago. I have been married for almost 34 years and we have two wonderful kids. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, reading, hiking, cooking, traveling and music. As a family, we truly love history, and enjoy living on the East Coast because it affords so much access to historical sites for both the American Revolution and the Civil War. When our extended family from CA comes to visit, we always have a new historical site we enjoy sharing with them.

I enjoy my time in the classroom and earnestly strive to inspire each and every student that comes through my door. I am always here to help and look forward to having a FANTASTIC year!
