Welcome to World History/ Civic Literacy!

Hi! I am so excited to have you in my class this year. My name is Meredith Groce, and I’m proud to be returning to the Viking nation. I am a proud graduate of Northwest, and it is a dream come true to be teaching at my alma mater. I received my bachelor’s degree in history from Wake Forest University (Go Deacs!), where I also earned my teaching license in secondary education. While in college, I worked at various historic sites and museums such as the Biltmore House, Old Salem, and the Greensboro History Museum. Before joining the NWHS faculty, I taught at Northern Guilford High as well as student-taught at West Forsyth High. I come from a family of teachers, as my dad has been a fellow history teacher across the parking lot at Northwest Middle for many years. Some of my favorite things include spending time with my family, swimming, cheering for the Deacs and Carolina Panthers in football, and especially spoiling my pug, Gunther. I can’t wait to get to know you this year!
