Good evening MTA families! Here are this week's updates.

We have enjoyed celebrating Red Ribbon Week with our spirit days this past week. Now that the 1st grading period has ended, it is time for us to celebrate our students amazing work in their academic subjects as well. By now, you should have scheduled a parent/teacher conference with your child's teacher. If you have not, please do so ASAP, as you will NOT receive your child's report card if a conference has not been held with the teacher. There is still time to have a conference, since we will have Report Card pickup on next Monday, Nov. 7th from 5 to 6pm. If you are unable to make it on Nov. 7th, your child's report card will be sent home on Wednesday, Nov. 9th. Remember, you must have had a conference with your child's teacher in order to receive their report card.

We are beginning another effort this week called our "Stock the Pantry" campaign. Beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 1st, we will begin collecting shelf-stable foods to stock our Murphey food pantry. Examples of ideal foods are those that do not require a can opener and are microwaveable, such as mac and cheese bowls, ramen noodles, or even canned pasta. We will be counting the items that classes bring in each day and will award the class that brings in the most items with a prize. These donations will directly impact Murphey students and families, as we will be able to send food with students and families in need over the upcoming holiday breaks. The campaign will run until Nov. 18th and the winning class will be announced before Thanksgiving Break.  Thank you for your support and as we enter into a season of gratitude, please know that we are most thankful for YOU and support of the amazing teaching and learning that happens at Murphey every single day. ¡Buenas noches familias de Murphey! Aquí están las actualizaciones de esta semana.

Hemos disfrutado celebrando la Semana del Lazo Rojo con nuestros días especiales de la semana pasada. Ahora que el 1er período del ano ha terminado, es hora de que también celebremos el increíble trabajo de nuestros estudiantes en sus materias académicas. A estas alturas, ya debería haber programado una conferencia de padres / maestros con el maestro de su hijo. Si no lo ha hecho, hágalo lo antes posible, ya que NO recibirá la boleta de calificaciones de su hijo si no se ha celebrado una conferencia con el maestro. Todavía hay tiempo para tener una conferencia, ya que tendremos la recogida de la boleta de calificaciones el próximo lunes 7 de noviembre de 5 a 6 pm. Si no puede asistir el 7 de noviembre, la boleta de calificaciones de su hijo se enviará a casa el miércoles 9 de noviembre. Recuerde, debe haber tenido una conferencia con el maestro de su hijo para recibir su boleta de calificaciones.

Estamos comenzando otro esfuerzo esta semana llamado nuestra campaña "Stock the Pantry" para ayudar a nuestras familias en necesidad de comida. A partir del martes 1 de noviembre, comenzaremos a recolectar alimentos no perecederos para abastecer nuestra despensa de alimentos en Murphey. Ejemplos de alimentos ideales son aquellos que no requieren un abrelatas y se pueden hacer en el microondas, como macarrones con queso, fideos ramen o incluso pasta enlatada. Contaremos los artículos que las clases traigan cada día y premiaremos a la clase que traiga más artículos con un premio. Estas donaciones tendrán un impacto directo en los estudiantes y las familias de Murphey, ya que podremos enviar alimentos con estudiantes y familias necesitadas durante las próximas vacaciones. La campaña se extenderá hasta el 18 de noviembre y la clase ganadora se anunciará antes de las vacaciones de Acción de Gracias.  Gracias por su apoyo y al entrar en una temporada de gratitud, sepan que estamos muy agradecidos por USTED y apoyamos la increíble enseñanza y aprendizaje que ocurre en Murphey todos los días.
