About Ms. Hales and Welcome:

My name is Ms. Hales and the 2024-2025 school year will be the start of my twenty-fifth year of teaching. I am excited about the year ahead! 

I am from Greensboro. I graduated high school from Northeast in McLeansville. Following high school, I attended college. After receiving my B.S. in Child Care Services, I went on to pursue a Masters in Counseling. For a few years, I worked as a Mental Health Counselor and a Social Worker. In 2000, I received my Masters in Education and began teaching second-grade.

This will be my second year teaching fourth grade math at Southern Guilford Elementary. Previously, I had taught at Reedy Fork Elementary since it opened in 2007.  I have taught both second and third-grade while at Reedy Fork. Prior to Reedy Fork Elementary, I taught third-grade at Madison Elementary for three years. My first four years of teaching were spent at Elon Elementary, where I taught second-grade for two years and third-grade for two years as well.

I enjoy teaching immensely and I strongly believe that "what one learns with pleasure....they never forget". I will always work hard to ensure that your child is having an enjoyable time while he/she engages in the curriculum.
