     Last week our 2nd -5th graders took home their acceptance letters into their Health and Wellness Pathway. Mark your Calendars for our Mandatory Health and Wellness Pathway’s Orientation next Tuesday, September 26th from 5:00-5:30. This is mandatory for all 2nd -5th graders. This During this orientation you will learn more about your Washingtonian’s pathway and all of the opportunities they will have this year.

     This week is Start with Hello Week. Start With Hello Week brings attention to the growing epidemic of social isolation and empowers young people to create a culture of inclusion and connectedness within their school, youth organization and community. We wil

    On Monday students are encouraged to make a kindness note for another student or staff member.

    On Tuesday students are challenged to chat for two minutes with at least two people that they normally don't talk with during the school day

    On Wednesday students are asked to wear green and greet others with a wave, nod, or kind greeting.

    On Thursday students encouraged to wear yellow to represents being a good friend or friendly to others

    On Friday students will sign a class pledge to continue the kindness and friendship and respect in their classrooms.

     

    On Tuesday, September 19th our 3rd graders will be taking a field trip to Hamilton Lakes Pool for a Rowing and Water Safety Clinic.  

    On Wednesday our 2nd – 5th graders will be taking the math NWEA assessment.

    This Friday will be Hoodie and Jeans Day. On this day only our Washingtonians are invited to wear their favorite hoodie as we say goodbye to the summer and welcome in fall.

    Your weekly Health and Wellness Tip for this week is: Set aside five to 10 minutes each day for special time. This involves letting your child lead the play and/or the conversation. During this time, parents use praise and avoid questions, criticisms and commands. Let your child express any concerns, interest, and/or questions.
