• Good evening Washington Families,

This is principal Paul Travers with your Weekly Message.

Tomorrow is a teacher workday. There will be no school for students tomorrow.

On Tuesday, September 26th, we look forward to seeing our 2nd – 5th grade families out to our Health & Wellness Pathway Parent Meeting from 5:00pm to 5:30pm. This is a change from the initial time on the invitation. At this meeting you will learn more about the opportunities your Washingtonian will have while engaging in their pathway. The night will conclude with a pizza dinner.

On Wednesday, September 27th will be the first day of Running Pathway Practice. If your Washingtonians is on the Running Pathway, please have them to school by 7:45am for practice.

On Thursday Junior Achievement will be at the school teaching our 1st graders financial literacy.

On, Friday, September 29th our 4th and 5th grade girls will take field trip to Bennett College and our 1st graders will take a field trip to the Greensboro Science Center.

Also on Friday, all Washingtonians are encouraged to wear a shirt or jersey from their favorite team.

Your Health and Wellness Tip for this week is: It is okay to have dessert occasionally but avoid serving it regularly. Maintaining an ideal sugar intake is essential for ensuring your child’s overall health and well-being. Many parents and guardians use candies and chocolates to display affection. Keep this practice occasional and limited to special occasions, such as birthdays.

Looking forward, Interim Reports will be sent home on October 3rd and October 10th will be picture day.

At Washington We Honor Community, Show Excellence, and Think Critically. Have a great evening and let’s get 1% Better Every Day.
