     This is Principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.

     I hope our Washingtonians have enjoyed an extended weekend and are well rested and ready for another great week of learning. As a reminder, this morning we set back our clocks 1 hour for Daylight Savings.

     On Friday, November 11th of this week, there will be no school in observance of Veteran’s Day.

     Tomorrow, Tiny Taste Buds and the Sign Language Clubs will meet afterschool for SAS.

     On Tuesday, November 7th our 5th graders will be taking their Science Interim Assessment.

     On Wednesday, November 8th Revamped Contemporary Dance and Fairy Tales in Action SAS Clubs will meet afterschool.

    This Thursday, November 9th we will have our 1st Quarter Awards Ceremony. Awards times are as follows:

    PreK/K—Hinson, Dark, Edmonds              8-8:30

    PreK/K—Frenia, Felton                               8:40-9:10

    Third Grade                                                 9:30-9:50

    First Grade                                                    10-10:30

    Second Grade                                               10:40-11:10

     This Saturday, November 11th our Running Pathway will run in the GO FAR 5K!

     You weekly Health and Wellness tip for this week is: Good sleep is very important to keep the students fresh, relaxed and helps them focus more on their academics. Staying up late should be only for urgent needs otherwise, timely sleep is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Ideally, a student should sleep for 7-8 hours.

     Looking ahead there will be no school on November 22nd – 24th for Thanksgiving Break.
