Good evening, Washington families, this is principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.
I hope each of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and were able to reflect on what you are grateful for.
You may have heard that some school nutrition staff members may be planning to walkout on Monday, November 27th. The district is aware of the concerns raised by school nutrition and are actively working to address them. I want you to assure you that our students will be served breakfast and lunch tomorrow, thanks to our school nutrition workers.
This week on Thursday, December 30th we will have our picture retakes. Please be sure to send in your picture forms if your child is having their picture retaken.
Your Health and Wellness tip for this week is: Getting plenty of exercise helps kid’s bodies and mind stay healthy. Encourage active play outside of school and establish an exercise routine.
Looking ahead on December 7th, second quarter interim reports will go home and on December 12th and 13th the NC Smile Mobile Clinic will be with us at Washington.
At Washington we Honor Community, Show Excellence and Think Critically. Have a great evening and let’s continue to get 1% Better Every Day!
