Good evening, Washington families,

 this is Principal, Paul Travers with your weekly message.

Shout out to our Washington basketball team who won their game this weekend at the YMCA by over 14 points.

Tomorrow, Monday, December 18th, students are encouraged to wear their favorite holiday colors.

On Wednesday, December 20th, students are invited to wear their favorite team jersey.

This Thursday, December 21st is Polar Express and Pajama Day. Students are invited to wear their pajamas to school. 

Also, on Thursday we will have our class winter celebrations. If you are sending items in, please be sure that they adhere to the Healthy Schools Food and Nutrition Policy. If you have any questions, please be sure to check with your Washingtonian's classroom teacher. 

Thursday will be the last day of school before winter break. School will resume on January 3 for students.

During winter break, it will be important for our Washingtonians to continue reading. Guilford County Schools has a winter break reading challenge. Any student in elementary school who reads 300 minutes will receive a ticket to a UNCG basketball game.
