• Good evening, Washington Families,

     

    This is principal Paul Travers with you weekly message.

     

    We have 2 special events happening this week the first is:

    Kindergarten Signing Day. This is for all our incoming Kindergartners next year! Children who will be five years old by August 31 are invited to join us this Wednesday, April 10, at 5:30-6:30pm in the Media Center. Our newest Washingtonians will receive a special gift and can meet teachers and learn more about the kindergarten experience here at Washington.

     

    The second is this our Washington Wellness run this Saturday, April 13th at 9:30am. This will be an opportunity for students to test their speed and endurance as they get out and run in a 1-mile race at our school. There will be awards, food, and wellness stations!

     

    Tomorrow, Monday, April 8th our golf pathway will take be going to practice at Gillespie Park Golf Course after school and select 4th and 5th graders will stay after school for tutoring.

     

    On Tuesday, 3rd quarter report cards will go home, our School Based Leadership Team will meet at 3pm in the media center and out golf pathway will head to Gillespie Park after school.

     

    This Wednesday is International Pink Day. All Washingtonians are invited to wear their favorite pink clothing. Also on Wednesday, we will have Career Day Games for 1st – 3rd graders, our 3rd – 5th graders will be taking their NWEA Assessment, and we will have our Washington Kindergarten Signing Day at 5:30pm.

     

    This Thursday, April 11th we will have our 3rd Quarter Awards Ceremonies. Each ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes. Times are as follows:

    PreK/K—Hinson, Dark, Edmonds           8-8:30

    PreK/K—Frenia, Felton 8:40-9:10

    Third Grade       9:30-9:50

    First Grade        10-10:30

    Second Grade  10:40-11:10

    Fifth Grade        11:20 – 11:50

    Fourth Grade    1:45-2:15

     

    This Friday, our 3rd graders will be takin their final ELA interim assessment and out 5h graders will be taking their final Science Interim Assessment.

     

    Your Weekly Health and Wellness Tip for this week is: Before you begin a physical activity, be sure to stretch first. Help yourself avoid injuries by stretching each time you exercise. Simple stretches before and after you work out or engage in physical activity can activate your muscles and remain pain free.
