• Good evening, Washington families,

This is Principal Paul Travers with you weekly message.

Shout out to our Running Pathway students who competed in the GO FAR 5k yesterday. They persevered through the rain.

This week is Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week. Families are encouraged to participate in various ways throughout the week to show their appreciation for our school staff.

Tomorrow, Monday, May 6th, is wear their favorite team shirt or jersey day.

Tomorrow and Tuesday, our Golf Pathway will go to the Gillespie Park golf course for golf lessons.

On Tuesday, students can bring their teacher their favorite snack to show their appreciation.

Wednesday is Wacky Wednesday. Students can wear as many patterns and colors as possible.

Afterschool tutoring for select 4th and 5th graders will be on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

On Thursday, students can write a note to express their appreciation for a staff member and End of Year DIBELS testing will also begin on Thursday.

Friday is Color Wars Day. Students are encouraged to wear the following colors:

    Pre-K/Kindergarten: Red

    1st Grade: Yellow

    2nd Grade: Green

    3rd Grade: Blue

    4th Grade: Purple

    5th Grade: Orange

Your weekly Health and Wellness Tip for this week is: One job you have as a kid — and it's a fun one — is that you get to figure out which activities you like best. Not everyone loves baseball or soccer. Maybe your passion is karate, kickball, or dancing. Ask your parents to help you do your favorite sports and other activities.

Looking ahead: Mark your calendars for Pre-K/Kindergarten & 5th grade Moving Up Ceremonies on June 4th, and 1st – 4th grade Moving Up Ceremonies on June 6th. We will have a PTO meeting next Tuesday, May 14th at 5:30pm in the media center.

At Washington we Honor Community, Show Excellence, and Think Critically.

Have a great evening, and I look forward to getting 1% Better with you Every Day this week!
