• Good evening, Washington families,

This is Principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.

I'd like to first welcome all of our new  new Washingtonians joining us for the 2024-2025 school year!

I hope all of our Washingtonians are having a great summer and have gotten into the habit of consistent reading.

Students who read (or are read to) for at least 600 minutes over summer break will receive a free ticket to one Kersey Valley Attraction (valid for general admission to Maize Adventure, Spooky Woods, or Kersey Valley Christmas). Minutes must be recorded in Beanstack by Friday, August 30th, to be eligible. Students can access Beanstack through the GCS Beanstack Landing Page by finding our school, entering their student ID number and eight-digit birthday, or by logging into Clever.com/in/GCS.

We have a great way for all of our Washingtonian families to connect this summer! Starting next Thursday, July 25th, join us for our Summer Movie Nights series. Join the Washington family on the school lawn to watch a movie on the big screen and enjoy popcorn!

Movie titles and dates are as follows:

    • July 25th - Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie
    • August 1st - Kung Fu Panda 4
    • August 8th - Elemental

Doors open at 7:30 pm, and the movie begins at 8:15 pm.

All new kindergartners who attend the July 25th Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie Summer Movie Night will receive a free Washington T-shirt and a kindergarten readiness bag. If you have any incoming kindergartners starting school this year, please come out! We will have information about registration ready for you.

At Washington, we honor community, show excellence, and think critically. Have a great evening and continue enjoying your summer!
