     This is principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.

     Mark your Calendar for our first ever Sneaker Ball on October 12th from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm at Washington.

    A sneaker ball is a formal event with a twist: Students are encouraged to pair their finest attire with their favorite sneakers. It's a fun and casual way to dress up while still expressing your personal style. Tickets go on sale for the Sneaker Ball tomorrow 9/23/2024. Tickets are $5 in advance; no tickets will be sold at the door. Be on the lookout for more information to go home tomorrow!

     All parents come join the PTO!! All fees are waived this year! The PTO's planning exciting things, come be a part!

    On Monday and Tuesday of this week, our golf pathway will head to Gillespie Park golf course after school to participate in the First Tee program.

    On Wednesday, September 25th our 4th and 5th Graders will be taking their Reading NWEA assessment.

    On Thursday, September 26th Interim Reports will go home.

    Your Weekly Health & Wellness tip for this week is: Intellectual wellness is about stimulating your mind, learning new things, and challenging yourself. Help your child set realistic goals: Break down big goals into smaller, achievable steps.

     Our school leadership team is happy to announce that we have rescheduled our Back-to-School event. Our Back-to-School event will be on the Mornings of :

    • October 1st for kindergarten and 1st grades
    • October 3rd for second and 3rd grades
    • October 4th for 4th and 5th grades

    This will be an opportunity for parents to come into the building at 7:45 for an introduction then head to classrooms at 8:00 to participate in Morning Movement with their Washingtonians.

     Looking ahead, our Leadership Team will meet on October 9th and our 3rd graders will be taking a field trip to the Greensboro Science Center on October 11th.

     As a reminder our PTO has started a parent walker group called, The Washington Family Walkers. This group will meet on the track in the back of the school at the start of the school day. The goal will be to walk the track develop community and accountability for staying active. All are welcome.
