Good evening, Washington families,
This is principal Paul Travers with your weekly message.
Parents, come join us this week for our Back-to-School Mornings. This will be an opportunity for parents to come into the building at 7:45 for an introduction then head to classrooms at 8:00 to participate in Morning Movement with your Washingtonian.
On Tuesday, 1st grade, and kindergarten parents are invited to join us.
On Thursday, 2nd and 3rd grade parents are invited to join us
And on, Friday, 4th and 5th grades parents are invited to join us
- On Monday and Tuesday of this week, our golf pathway will head to Gillespie Park golf course after school to participate in the First Tee program.
- On Saturday of this week the AKA’s from NCA&T will be hosting a Saturday School event for invited students.
Mark your Calendar for our first ever Sneaker Ball on Saturday, October 12th, from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm at Washington.
A sneaker ball is a formal event with a twist: Students are encouraged to pair their finest attire with their favorite sneakers. It's a fun and casual way to dress up while still expressing your personal style. Tickets are $5 in advance; no tickets will be sold at the door. The last day to purchase tickets will be this Friday.
Your Weekly Health & Wellness tip for this week is: Write thank-you notes to express gratitude: Teach children the importance of acknowledging acts of kindness. This makes the gesture more personal and meaningful.
Looking ahead, our Leadership Team will meet on October 9th and our 3rd graders will be taking a field trip to the Greensboro Science Center on October 11th.
At Washington, we Honor Community, Show Excellence, Think Critically, and Thrive Through Movement.
