Mr. Anthony Oliver

Dear Teachers, Staff, and Parents/Guardians,

My name is Anthony Oliver, I have been hired to fill a new position called Communities In Schools Site Coordinator. My job is to help you all help the students succeed by supporting the achievement of the school's strategic plan goals, such as improving attendance, academic progress, and behavioral goals on campus. I am responsible for matching students who have unmet needs with existing school or community resources or working to create new resources if they do not yet exist.

I know how very busy you all are. My job is to meet some of the needs of students so that they can be more productive in their classrooms, more mature in their interpersonal relationships, and more successful in life. If you notice a student need that you would like me to look into, please fill out a referral form, which I will provide you with.

I will work individually with students, in small groups, and will also provide support available to the entire school. Please share your observations with me as you know the students here and you see them in more settings than I do. Please share any ideas of resources you have as well. I am sure you know of many school and community resources that I am not aware of.

Some examples of ways that I will work to help improve attendance and academics, and specifically keep our students engaged. Hopefully, keeping students in class on time, and increasing sufficient behavior will make it easier on parents and staff.
