My name is Joan Baer, and I am looking forward to another great year. I graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Education and a major in English. For the 2023-2024 school year, I will be teaching Honors Early Childhood Education 1 & 2 & Honors Childhood Development.  In addition to my certification to teach Family and Consumer Science, I am certified to teach AP English by the College Board. I am looking forward to another amazing year building up the Nighthawk community by sponsoring interns who help close the achievement gap in area schools. I am lucky enough to also be serving as department chairperson to the BEST department at Northern! Let's go Nighthawks!
