    Teacher Workday

Tuesday, January 18th will be a teacher workday.  There will be no school for students on that day.

     Second Semester

Second semester classes begin for ALL students On Wednesday, January 19th.  All students will report to their 1st semester 1st block teacher Wednesday morning for about 10 minutes to pick up an updated copy of their second semester schedule. Your child may see a change in the order of their classes on the schedule that was mailed to you prior to the start of school.  These moves have been made to balance class size numbers throughout the school.  Any students who attended Weaver first block will meet in the media center for their schedule.  Following this brief period students will begin their second semester classes.

    Transportation Updates

With the recent rapid changes to transportation throughout the district, I do encourage all parents who have students that ride the bus to download the HERE COMES THE BUS APP.  To register for a HCTB account, parents need an active email address, the GCS school code (87491) and the student ID number.  Go to herecomesthebus.com and click GET Started or go to your APP store and download the APP.  Beginning January 12, the Transportation Office number will change to 1-888-511-(4GCS)4427 and will operate Monday – Friday from 6am – 9pm.

For more information about Transportation and a FAQ document please visit our district website.

    Senior Pictures

Seniors, you have one, last chance to be featured in this your 2022, senior yearbook! Tuesday, January 18, Prestige will be on campus to capture your images.  Information came out this week in third blocks as well as in the senior newsletter.  Please sign up for a free time slot at schedule.prestigeportraits.com.

     Senior Ads

Good news, senior parents!  If you missed your opportunity to reserve your space in the 2022 yearbook for a senior recognition ad, Mrs. Ingold has asked to have the site reopened for a few additional weeks.  This will be your absolute final opportunity to get your yearbook ad completed.  Please go to jostensadservice.com, the site will close down at midnight on January 31 with no available extensions!!

    Early Dismissals

Please remember that all early dismissals must be before 4:10 pm. We do not allow early dismissals after this time.  This is to protect instructional time and limit congestion in the front office as well as the parking lots.  If you need to get your student out of school early plan appropriately and do so before 4:10 pm.

     Student Parking

All students must park in their assigned parking spaces.  All students who park on campus must have a valid Southeast Parking permit.  Students should not park in staff parking, student parking that isn’t assigned to them, or in handicap parking without a valid permit. Violations of our parking regulations could result in revocation of parking permit or towing of your vehicle.

Please consider joining our PTO for the 2021-22 school.  They need your help, support, and volunteerism.  You can join for the low, low price of $5 for an individual membership or $20 for a family membership.  All dues stay directly in our school to support our students and staff.  You can drop your membership form with dues in the front office during normal business hours.  Our membership forms can be found on the school’s website.

     Health and Safety Guidance Update

Students who are sick, should stay home.  Students who are sick can get access to their work through Canvas or by contacting individual teachers.  Students who are not feeling well and do not have any of the COVID 19 symptoms can return to school within 24 hours of feeling better and not having a fever (without the use of fever reducing medicine).  Students who have tested positive for COVID 19 or exhibit any COVID related symptoms should contact the school before returning to school.  Please help us keep the school safe and healthy.
