Good evening, Brightwood Family. This is Principal Stokes. Welcome to another great week of learning at Brightwood Elementary School.
We hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. We hope that everyone was able to reset, relax, and positively recharge.
Progress reports are coming home this Wednesday, December 1, in our students' weekly folders, so please be on the look-out for your child’s 2nd quarter progress report. Please make sure that your child is turning in his/her work, and if he/she is having issues, please be sure to contact your child’s teacher before it is too late.
Parents, we need your support in making sure all children have a mask daily. Students and staff are still required to wear mask on GCS school property at all times. We have a limited amount of mask available for emergencies only, but lately we have been having to provide masks to students daily, and we are starting to run short of children’s masks. We also ask that you make sure that your child comes to school daily with their devices charged and bring their charging cords to school daily. They will also need to bring all of their needed learning material to school as well and have a positive can-do or at least I-will-try attitude.
Please remember that Brightwood is now offering ACES, an economically-friendly-priced afterschool program here at the school. If you have questions about ACES, please contact our ACES Coordinator, Mr. Price. Our ACES hours are from dismissal until 6:00 pm. ACES students will need to be picked up and signed out at the cafeteria by an authorized parent or adult. Please be sure to bring state-issued identification to sign your child out from ACES and/or school.
Our Brightwood Step Team will be participating in the Greensboro Christmas parade this Saturday, December 4. Please come out and support our Step Team.
Please remember that our doors open at 7:00 am, and our tardy bell rings at 7:25 am. Please be mindful of the temperatures outside, and make sure that your child is properly dressed for the fall weather and has on layers that he/she is can remove once they enter the building. Please be sure to download the Here Comes the Bus App for any updates, as they may come last minute to us and you. We thank you all for your patience with the many bus changes we are experiencing.
We greatly appreciate your support as we continuously work to provide an excellent education every day to each of our Brightwood Tiger Scholars this school year. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us here at the school (336) 375-2565 or send us a message on ClassDojo. Thank you for all that you do and have a great evening. Remember as always, you are amazing!
Love Always your Proud Principal,
Ms. LaTrice Stokes
