Determining Eligibility - (Percentile Scores)

How do you locate your child’s standardized test score information to determine program eligibility?

A sample North Carolina Individual Student Report for a Grade 5 End-of-Grade Mathematics test shows student John Doe scoring at Level 5 with a scale score of 561. If your child has taken the North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) tests, you can determine their percentile by looking at their Individual Student Report (ISR). This information is located by the red arrow below. Submitted applications that do not meet program criteria will be marked “Does Not Qualify” and will be Cancelled.

If your child is coming from a private/charter or home school that did not administer the NC EOGs, we will use the information gathered from the standardized test that was used by that institution. We will be utilizing the percentile ranking, as well.

Brown Summit Middle Application Criteria

Due to the rigor and pace of the curriculum at BSMS, it is required that applicants meet the following criteria for consideration:

Score a 70th percentile or higher on the EOG in both Math and Reading in their last tested year.
Have a grade of an A or B in each subject area in their 4th Grade Year.
Possess a grade of A or B in each subject area on the most current report card in 5th grade.
7th & 8th Grade applicants must meet the same criteria but include their latest test scores and grades.
