Reassignment Process

• Only one reassignment request per student per year will be granted  
• Approved reassignments remain in effect through the highest grade level at the school 
• Transportation is not provided to reassigned schools  
• Reassignments are not guaranteed and depend on capacity and eligibility  

If your reassignment request is submitted between May 1 – May 31, and denied.  You may submit an appeal request within five (5) days of receiving your denial notice. 

• You will receive notification of your hearing date and time 
• During the hearing:  
• You will have 10 minutes to present your case  
• The panel may ask questions (5 minutes)  
• Additional documentation may be considered  
• The panel’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Board of Education 
• You will be notified of the final decision  

Each reassignment decision may be appealed one (1) time per school year.

BOE Appeals are only eligible for applications submitted during the reassignment window.
