Business Partnerships

Connecting employees with meaningful volunteer opportunities has been shown to

help companies improve their workers' leadership skills, job satisfaction and even retention. Local businesses find creative ways to contribute to our Guilford County Schools each year that include: 

• Job shadow, internship and apprenticeship opportunities
• School partnerships to help a principal and staff meet school and
  student needs
• Sponsorship of school and district events
• Hosting a table at the annual district Career Fair
• Judging science, business, robotics and other student projects for competition
• Sharing their employees' expertise as research project mentors, club advisers and class speakers
• Donating equipment to science labs, art studios, and other academic areas
• Contributing to the purchase of musical instruments for band, orchestra and choral programs
• Mentoring students through school and community organizations
• Engaging teachers in summer fellowships in the workplace to help them connect classroom learning with real-world applications
