WFMY News 2 Read 2 Succeed
Read 2 Succeed is a partnership between Guilford County Schools and WFMY News 2 that fosters excitement and a love of reading in elementary school students by combining on-air promotions, morning news show spots and interviews on literacy and reading with high-energy school assemblies. The assemblies, which began in 2012, feature on-air talent who motivate students to read 30 minutes a day or more in conjunction with the district’s GCS Reads 30 initiative. Since 2012, WFMY has visited every elementary school in Guilford County and continues to delight students with every visit.
