The Johnson Street Global Studies MakerSpace is a place for students to to build, design, engineer, create and make!
The MakerSpace is open to students at select times throughout the week for time to work on class projects and time for free exploration. The space is also used by teachers for STEM lessons, by students during library class, and by Big Brothers and Big Sister partnerships.
Our school was fortunate to receive funding from Thomas Built Busses, The High Point Community Foundation Principal's Grant, and the GCS PACE Grant to create the space in our school library.
The MakerSpace is stocked with a wide variety of materials from Legos to recycled materials to a 3D printer. We also greatly appreciate donations to help replace materials as they get used.
