• I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree  in Middle School education with a double concentration in Language Arts and Social Studies.  I graduated with my Master's degree in secondary English education from Druary University in Springfield, Missouri.

I believe every child has the ability to learn given enough time and patience.  Education is a joint venture of child, teacher, and parents.  One of my favorite sayings is "It takes a village to raise a child."

I am an avid Duke fan and have been since I was "knee-high to a grasshopper."  People often ask me why when I graduated from NC State.  The answer is simple:  My father was a Methodist minister, and Duke has a Methodist divinity school.  I pulled for the basketball team all during the lean years, and now that they are on top, the victories are all the sweeter.
