• Welcome to Ms. Farris' Kindergarten Class. I would like to introduce myself to those of you that I have not met.  My name is Abby Farris.  I am from Gastonia, NC.  I graduated from Appalachian State University.  This will be my 21st year of teaching.  I taught in Gastonia for a half of a year, then moved here and taught 1 year in Graham.  I didn’t like driving back and forth, so I received a job in Greensboro teaching at Cone for 1 year.  Then, I was moved the next year to Brightwood because the number of Kindergartners was down, and taught there for 4 years, so I have always taught Kindergarten.  Now, this is my 14th year here at Jesse Wharton.  I have 2 children, Addison and Whit. Addison will be starting 8th grade at Mendenhall and Whit will be starting 5th grade here.

I would also like to introduce you to Frankie Todt, my assistant.  This is her 20th  year as a teacher assistant at Jesse Wharton.  She is married and is a mother of 3 daughters and has 3 grandsons. We are looking forward to working together!

We are excited about teaching your child this year and we look forward to working with you.  I have many things planned! It is also important that your child goes to bed at an early time to ensure that they get proper rest.  Please, no later than 8:00. I look forward to all the wonderful times we will share this year.  If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to send me an email.

    Sincerely, Ms. Farris
