Hi There!  This is Mrs. Fiery, your band teacher for all grade levels at Hairston Middle School.  I am originally from Maryland and moved to Greensboro in 2016.  I live with my husband, my 2-year old son, 15-year old stepson and have been teaching band for 15 years.  The Pittsburgh Steelers are my FAVORITE sports team!!!  I am excited to start this new school year with you.  Online learning for band will be quite different than if we were in the classroom together.  I promise we will have fun and get you all ready to play instruments when we return to the classroom!

Are you ready to make some noise?  Music, that is!!  For the next few weeks, beginning band members are going to learn about the different instruments, how to read music letters, and rhythm.  When we return to the classroom you and I, together, will select the instrument you will learn for the rest of the year.    Intermediate and advanced band members will review rhythms and note letter names.  We will also learn more about dynamics and articulations.  Everyone will take what we learned online and start to make some noise when we return to the classroom!!!
