Welcome to Mr. LaClair's ELD Reading Class!

I hope that you are well and ready to begin an interesting year. We are embarking on a new and transformative journey in education. This should be quite exciting, challenging, and rewarding. We will work through this together and we will be better for having had the experience.

A bit about me...

• a graduate of Portland State University (B.S. Administration of Justice)
• 16 years as an educator
• I hold licenses in English as a Second Language K-12, Secondary Social Studies 9-12, and Middle Grades English Language Arts 6-8
• my daughter is beginning her first year of college at NC State (Go Wolfpack!)
• the interests which occupy my time outside of work include kayak fishing, hiking/camping, creating (woodwork, etc.), and, most importantly, learning.

It is always an honor to welcome a new group of students into my classroom, as well as to reconnect with returning learners. I look forward to sharing a wonderful year of exploring and learning. My hope is that you are excited and motivated to make this a great year.
