WELCOME TO MS. DORAN'S CLASS

Welcome to the Apparel Production and Fashion Merchandising program at Weaver Academy! My name is Ms. Doran and I'm an apparel teacher and the Dept. Chair for our Fashion Program here at Weaver. My academic portfolio includes the Fashion Institute of Technology, a B.S. in Fashion Merchandising & Design from North Carolina A&T (Aggie Pride!), and an M.Ed. in Higher Educational Leadership. 

I have over 13 yrs of both formal and informal teaching experience in Family and Consumer Sciences, with a specialization in teaching apparel production, fashion merchandising and interior design. I'm also a published fashion designer, which enables me to help my students make the necessary connections between what they learn in the classroom and application in the real world.

This is my 8th year teaching at Weaver from the onset of the apparel program, and I'm excited to see our program continue to grow! Students have completed our program and gone on to continue their education at institutions like SCAD, The Fashion Institute of Technology, The New School (Parsons), NC State College of Textiles, and many more. 

No class day is the same! Students can expect to learn in a dynamic classroom environment conducive to career exploration, building communication skills, creating, collaborating with their peers and working independently.  Everyday I look forward to engaging our students and nurturing their budding interests in the apparel industry!
