Mrs. Vanina Hackett
  • Welcome to my Web Page!

I am Vanina Hackett and I am an ELL ( English Language Learners) teacher at Sedgefield Elementary.

This is my fifth year at Sedgefield Elementary, and I have the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten and First Grade students. Before coming to Sedgefield, I taught at Doris Henderson Newcomers School for six years at the Elementary level. During my first three years in the USA, I taught at Harvey R. Newlin Elementary in Burlington, NC.

I am originally from Argentina (Parana, Entre Rios). I came to the USA in 2003 as a VIF (Visiting International Faculty) Cultural Exchange Teacher.

In Argentina, I graduated as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language. I completed a Master's Degree in Education at Wake Forest University in 2007. I also received my National Board Certification in December of 2017.

Spanish is my first language. I also studied Italian and Hebrew while I was in Argentina. I am married, and I have a daughter named Isabella and a step-daughter named Kaylee. I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, listening to music and dancing.
