My name is Heather Griffin, and I am excited to be a part of Sedalia Elementary. I graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College with a degree in Food Service and Hotel Management. I worked in that field for 8 years before I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. I did that for several years until my daughter Sara started kindergarten. I decided to go back to school to study elementary education. I received my NC Teaching license form North Carolina A&T University in 2011. I had the privilege of completing my student teaching here at Sedalia Elementary. I have worked here since 2010, first as a teacher assistant, then as a teacher. I absolutely love school, and I love teaching.
The most important thing to know about me is that I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and I try my best to honor Him in all I do - both personally and professionally. I married my husband, Mike, in 2001. I have a stepson Michael, who is serving in the Air Force in Germany. He is married to Kristen. I also have a daughter Sara that is a Junior at Weaver Academy - studying visual arts, and dog Happy! When I am not at school, I am involved at my church and helping with missions. I enjoy baking and cooking, camping, working in my flower and vegetable gardens, reading, and spending time with my family.
