• Hello!  My name is Mrs. Massengale.  I have been in education for over 25 years.  I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Go Heels!  I taught elementary school for 19 years.  During that time I realized that sharing my love of books and reading to my students was my favorite part of the school day.  That's when I decided to go back to school to get my Masters of Library Science degree.  I graduated from East Carolina University with that master's degree in 2015.  I spent 19 years in the classroom and then transitioned to the library, where I have been ever since.  I still love reading to my students, but the only difference is now I get to do it with the whole school instead of just one classroom!  It is my hope that every student will find at least one book that they love this year!

In my spare time I love to read (of course), walk my dogs, cook and bake and go to Disney World!  I have three grown daughters and my husband and I also like to spend as much time with them as possible.

This is a picture of me reading a Disney book with my stuffed animal Stitch while wearing my rose gold Minnie Mouse ears.
