• Welcome! Hope everyone has been safe during all the snow in January and has returned to the normal flow of the school year!  


    Within the month of February, students will begin their realistic fiction study within reading! Students will explore the key characteristics of Realistic Fiction such as setting, characters, plot theme and language. Students will be reading "Wonder" in class and will be reading four realistic fiction books within our ARC bins! Students will begin to write an opinion writing piece towards the end of February beginning of March! 


    Students have begun the study of the force and motion and will continue this study throughout this month! Students have learned about the distance time graphs, gravity, friction, push and pull and much more! Please make sure students are reviewing their notes taken in class nightly! 


    During the month of February, students chose an influential African American leader past and current. Students are to complete a biography rubric, write a three- paragraph essay and create a timeline representing the most important dates of their leaders life. Each will be taken as a separate grade. All aspects of this assignment will be due Friday, March 2nd. These will be a major grade for their 3rd Quarter Social Studies grades. 


    Students are to be reading nightly for 30 minutes. Please make sure students are bringing home their reading logs and recording the steps that are being read! Students can be completing TenMarks assignments nightly as well! 


    Fundraising for D.C has been such a success! Students can continue to sell their boxes of chocolate up until the end of February! Please encourage your student to keep selling as many chocolates as possible! The second payment for D.C is approaching on February 22nd! The second payment is $125!
