Meet your Teacher:
My name is Fannesha Coltrane. I am so excited and thrilled to work with you for the 2019-2020 school year! This is my fourth year at Rankin Elementary but my 10th year teaching. I previously taught First Grade for two years before teaching Kindergarten for 4 years. Now I am back in First Grade.
I am a graduate of Winston Salem State University; I attended Guilford College for my teaching certification for Elementary Education. I have a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning from Liberty University. I love learning and teaching! I believe that all children have the ability to learn.
I have high expectations for my students. This will mean that we, the parents and the teacher, must help your child to achieve the best learning experience possible. Your child will need your help with homework nightly. Homework will be assignments that make learning relevant at home. Please be sure to check the folder daily for handouts as well as notes that might have been sent home. I hope that this school year will be great and always feel free to express your concerns to me.
Homework packets are due back on Friday of each week except when the week ends on Thursday then it will be due on Thursday. Homework completion allows your child to practice what skills they have learned at school. It gives you a chance to see what skills they need to most help with as well. Please help your child by monitoring their homework completion.
