Mrs. Ellington
Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by my page!
My name is Heather Ellington and I am currently the Digital Art/Graphic Design Teacher for Kiser Middle School. I am so beyond excited to be a part of this amazing community and a fantastic group of students. I thank you because, without YOUR support, none of this would be possible!
Prior to my time at Kiser, I graduated in 2013 from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education K-12 and a concentration in Graphic Design and Photography.
I have worked professionally as a Graphic Designer for Simply Southern for a year and a half. My professional life started at Kiser Middle School. I serve grades 6-8th in Graphic Design. During my time at Kiser Middle, I developed and implemented the only Graphic Design program of its kind in the state of North Carolina. The curriculum I designed and implemented was approved by the Department of Instruction of North Carolina.
Kiser and our Digital Art Program have provided me with so many amazing opportunities to speak at our NCAEA Conventions on Adobe Alternative in the classroom, invitations to National Art Education conferences, as well as serving the Lead Visual Arts Teacher for Secondary Education within Guilford County Schools. My proudest moment was in 2017 when I was recognized as Guilford County's Art Educator of the Year which I owe all to my amazing students.
Anyone who has met me knows my passion for education and spreading the love for learning and creativity everywhere I go. I am so blessed to be to return back to Kiser Middle School!
When I am not teaching, I am an avid equestrian! I am married with three amazing fur children! Maggie and Winston are our very spoiled dogs and a rotund cat, Smokey! I look forward to meeting you all in the 2022-2023 school year!
