Dear Middle College at UNCG Family,
I would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome all of our families for the 2017-18 school year. It is so exciting to begin our sixth year with such a phenomenal group of individuals.
Since our short time in existence, we have been able to accomplish some amazing things, including “Honor School of Excellence” after only our first year. Additionally, for the past two years we have been included in “Newsweek and World Report” as one of the “Best High Schools” in the nation. This is due to the rigor and high expectations that our dedicated staff has set for all of our students and parents/guardians. Excellence, “becoming better than we were” is the expectation!
Our goal is to continue to build on this solid foundation of excellence because we are “preparing every student to be College, Career and Life Ready!” This is not just a slogan; this is truly what we are striving to accomplish but this can only be done if we work together as a team and utilize all available resources, including your active participation in your high school child’s education. We need all hands on deck; our parents/guardians, the UNCG community, GCS, our business partners and the Guilford County community to continue our tradition. Together we can!
We know that there will be some challenges along the way, misunderstandings may occur and that you may not always agree with how things are done; however, all that we ask is that you “agree to disagree” and continue to work together as a team to ensure that your child gets the best possible education from one of the nation’s top high schools.
You have the total commitment of the MC at UNCG staff, GCS, our college liaison- Mr. Sands and the UNCG community. We truly have your child’s best interests at heart and are honored that you have entrusted a portion of their future with us.
In the Interest of Children,
Angela D. Polk-Jones
Principal, The Middle College at UNCG
