I am excited about the opportunity to serve as the new principal at The Middle College at UNCG. Our school has a well-documented and highly visible culture of excellence that I am very proud to now be a part of. I look forward to getting to know each one of you as we begin this journey and lay out the “20/20 Vision for Excellence” for The Middle College at UNCG.
I have had the pleasure of serving at Swann Middle School (formerly Aycock Middle) or the last seven years and I enthusiastically embraced all of the challenges that being a middle school principal brought. I have also worked as an elementary and high school administrator in Guilford County Schools, as well as other school districts in North Carolina as a teacher, curriculum facilitator and assistant principal. I am looking forward to the new opportunity to serve as your principal.
The Middle College at UNCG has a clear blueprint for success in place and I am committed to carrying out this vision and facilitate the continued growth of our students on a daily basis. Our upward trajectory will remain the norm and our spirit of excellence will remain the “GOLD STANDARD” in the district, the state and the country. The culture at the Middle College at UNCG will remain student-success focused, parent/volunteer driven and administrative/staff supported. Our team effort will continue to make our school the destination spot for those looking to excel and prepare themselves for the next level.
TRUST, TEAMWORK AND TRANSPARENCY will be our staff’s commitment that will guide us as we guide the students entrusted to our care each day. Our community engagement as well as our partnership with the university will be an exemplar for our school district and all other organizations in the triad. I am ecstatic to begin at the start of the 2019-2020 school year so be expecting to hear from me again very soon. I look forward to us working together to prepare our students for success beyond the walls at The Middle College at UNCG. With your help, we will succeed! Thank you in advance.
