Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Marcy Roan
It is my honor to serve the students, parents, and the Gibsonville community as principal of Gibsonville Elementary School. I grew up on a large farm where I developed strong work ethic, appreciation for and dependence on the natural environment, and a belief in the strong ties of community. I am in my 20th year as an educator. I have served as a National Board Certified teacher, assessment specialist, and instructional coach prior to moving into school administration. As an educator serving in many capacities I have developed a deep-rooted belief that all students deserve and are entitled to a quality public education and it is our primary responsibility as educators to advocate on behalf of our students and continually hone our skills to prepare future generations.
I currently live in High Point with my husband and two middle school children. We enjoy spending our time in the Northern Outer Banks area where we explore the aquarium, historic sites, and of course, the beach! You will also find me on the other side of a camera lens when I am not in school. I enjoy photographing my children (much to their chagrin), nature, historic sites and old buildings.
I encourage you to contact me should you ever need to discuss your child’s education or would like to partner with us to benefit the students at Gibsonville Elementary.
I look forward to witnessing and engaging in our most important work!
