We need the entire village of parents, families and students to help keep our campus safe!   Recent violence and incidents in our schools have caused concerns but we can’t allow it to lead to unnecessary panic when misinformation is shared on social media and beyond.  Stop false rumors by sharing ONLY what you know is fact.  If you witness something concerning, tell a school administrator, SRO or law enforcement so the matter can be addressed immediately.  Please remind your children that making threatening remarks, even jokingly, can have serious legal consequences.  Following these guidelines will ensure that our law enforcement partners are focused on what’s important.   Thanks for your cooperation.

Hello Bison Families, this is High Point Central with your updates for the week.

Yearbooks and senior ads are currently on sale.  Families can go to www.jostens.com to purchase or contact Ms. J Johnson by email or in room 311.

It’s almost time for school pictures.  Underclassmen pictures will be on September 13, underclassmen picture makeups and retakes will be October 27th.  Senior retakes will be on October 14th.

As a reminder, masks are required for each student and staff member.  CDC approved masks must be worn the entire day with the exception of lunch when students are eating and socially distanced.  Masks are available for students who lose or do not have access to appropriate masks.  Students who refuse to wear a mask after receiving a warning will be sent home.

If your student has tested positive for COVID 19, been exposed or in quarantine they should not come to school.  Students should also not come to school while waiting for test results.  Please contact the main office to report and for information on  next steps and assistance with student assignments.

Students are asked to come to school appropriately addressed.  Please do not send your child to school wearing crop tops, tank tops, garments above their finger tip, garments that expose body parts including holy jeans or garments with obscene gestures.  Students dressed inappropriately for school will be asked to call home for appropriate garments.

That concludes our announcements.  Have a great week!

Hello, this is Dr. Nixon-Green calling from High Point Central with your weekly updates.

Tomorrow is the first day of school for students and we are excited to see everyone!  As a reminder, ur instructional student hours are 9:15-4:15 each day.  Students can enter the building each morning no earlier than 8:55am.  Early check-out ends at 3:45pm.  For safety reasons, parents should contact the school for all questions and when on campus for student check-outs, please come to tower 2 and ring the buzzer for assistance.

Students requesting updates to their schedule, should complete a schedule change request.  All teachers will have copies of this form.  A counselor will reach out to students with updates as soon as they can, meanwhile the student should continue attending their schedule.  If a student is missing a class, they should report to the media center during the block with no class for immediate assistance.

To continue addressing the health and safety needs of all staff and students, we are not allowing visitors on campus, at this time.  All students are required to wear a CDC approved mask at all times and will be required to adhere to social distancing requirements throughout the school day, including lunch.  If your student has tested positive or been exposed to COVID-19, please contact the school as soon as possible to share that information.

We’re looking forward to a great BISON year; have a great evening.
