  • Parking Permits, Parent Survey, School Laptops

    High Point Central will be on its summer schedule until through Friday, Aug. 14.  During the summer schedule, we will be open to the public Monday through Thursday, 9-4pm and closed on Fridays during the summer. 

    We have postponed the sales of parking permits.  We are waiting for direction from school district before accepting applications for student parking. More information will be shared.

    Parents, we have created a survey that is posted on the HPC website that we would like you to complete. The information gathered will help us to provide meaningful feedback on the best ways we can assist you and your student to ensure success during the 2020-2021 school year. Please take a few minutes and complete it for us. It is listed in the banner on the homepage.

    Parents and students, please return your Guilford County School laptops next week, August 3-6, between the hours of 10am-2pm as they need to be updated. If you do not turn them in they will not work properly at the beginning of the school year. We will contact you about when you are able to pick up a replacement if needed before school begins on August 17.

  • ACT Cancellation

    The A C T scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday July 18 at Southern High School, has been cancelled due to continued health and safety concerns regarding group gatherings. A C T will be in touch with each individual who registered to take the A C T in order to schedule another date/time.

  • Laptop Return, Summer Remind

    Hello, this is Principal Nixon-Green calling from High Point Central High School with a few announcements.

    Students who received a laptop to complete their online assignments, should return their laptops to school next week between 10-2pm. Monday-Thursday.  If you purchased a yearbook, you can pick up your yearbook at this time as well.  Again, students can pick –up yearbooks and return laptops next week, between 10am-2pm Monday-Thursday.

    To receive communication throughout the summer and next school year, please join our REMIND app.  The steps for joining REMIND can be found on High Point Central’s website under the Parent tab.  Click More and then under C for connect with REMIND.

  • Coronavirus Phase 2 Precautions

    Hello, this is Principal Nixon-Green from High Point Central calling with an important message.

    In light of the recent news that North Carolina will remain in Phase 2 for a few more weeks, Guilford County Schools  is delaying the reopening of athletics and marching band until later in July. We hope to resume activities on July 20 if conditions allow, and we will follow appropriate guidelines at that time. We will notify you of any changes to this plan.

  • Senior Recognition Ceremony

    Connect Ed Message June 7, 2020

    Our senior recognition ceremony has been condensed to one day. The event will be held on Friday starting at 9am.  As a reminder, students with last names A- H will come between 9-11:30am.  Students with last names I-Q will come from 12:30-2:30pm and those with last names R-Z will come from 3-4:30pm.

    Students can return library books and text books Monday through Wednesday of this week from 10am-2pm at tower 2.  Seniors must turn in their laptops and books during this time to receive their diploma on Friday.

    I look forward to seeing all seniors and their families on Friday.

    Nuestra ceremonia de reconocimiento senior se ha condensado hasta un día. El evento se llevará a cabo el viernes a partir de las 9 am.  Como recordatorio, los estudiantes con apellidos A- H vendrán entre las 9-11:30 am.  Los estudiantes con apellidos I-Q vendrán de 12:30-2:30pm y aquellos con apellidos R-Z vendrán de 3-4:30pm.

    Los estudiantes pueden devolver libros de la biblioteca y libros de texto de lunes a miércoles de esta semana de 10am-2pm en la torre 2.  Las personas mayores deben entregar sus computadoras portátiles y libros durante este tiempo para recibir su diploma el viernes.

    Espero ver a todos los ancianos y sus familias el viernes.

  • Senior Awards Schedule

    Our senior awards program has been condensed from 2 to 1 day and will occur on Friday, June 12th.  Students are asked to attend based on an alpha order schedule.  Students with last names A- H should come from 9-11:30am.  Students with last names I – Q should come from 12:30-2pm and students with last names R –Z should come between 3-4:30pm.  Additional information has also been placed on our webpage.  We look forward to seeing and celebrating each one of you.

  • Drive Through Graduation Recognition, Virtual Prom

    Good afternoon, parents of the class of 2020. I have exciting news to share with you. Today we confirmed that we will be hosting a drive-through graduation recognition event on our school’s campus on June 12th and June 13th at 9am.  Students with last names A-L will attend on June 12th and students with last names M-Z.   We will share more details about the procedure for this event as we get closer. At this event, students will be able to get their diplomas, cross a stage and take a picture in their caps and gowns. If guidance from the state indicates that it is safe to do so, the district will hold in-person graduation ceremonies from July 22-28, 2020. More information will be shared with students and families as plans are finalized.

    Also, as a reminder, our virtual Senior Prom will be held on Saturday, May 23rd from 8-9pm via IG live.  During this time, we will  have song dedications, requests and shout outs.  King and Queen will be announced on  IG Live as well as the Senior page and school site.  Remember to post and DM all message and pictures on hpc_un_prom2020.

    Buenas tardes, padres de la clase de 2020. Tengo noticias emocionantes que compartir con ustedes. Hoy confirmamos que organizaremos un evento de reconocimiento de graduación en el campus de nuestra escuela el 12 de junio y el 13 de junio a las 9 a. m.  Los estudiantes con apellidos A-L asistirán el 12 de junio y estudiantes con apellidos M-Z.   Compartiremos más detalles sobre el procedimiento para este evento a medida que nos acerquemos. En este evento, los estudiantes podrán obtener sus diplomas, cruzar un escenario y tomar una foto con sus gorras y vestidos. Si la guía del estado indica que es seguro hacerlo, el distrito llevará a celebrar ceremonias de graduación en persona del 22 al 28 de julio de 2020. Se compartirá más información con los estudiantes y las familias a medida que se finalicen los planes.

    Además, como recordatorio, nuestro baile virtual Senior Prom se llevará a cabo el sábado 23 de mayo de 8-9pm a través de IG live.  Durante este tiempo, tendremos dedicatorias de canciones, peticiones y gritos.  King and Queen se anunciará en IG Live, así como en la página de la tercera edad y en el sitio de la escuela.  Recuerda publicar y DM todos los mensajes e imágenes en hpc_un_prom2020.

  • Report Cards. AP Exams, Cap and Gown

    Hello, this is Principal Nixon-Green calling from High Point Central with a few updates.

    As a reminder, report cards were mailed to all homes on Monday.  If you have any questions about how you can improve your grade, please contact your teacher.  Additional information will be shared about how final grades will be calculated.

    AP exams are scheduled to take place online May 11-May 22. Students will receive an e-ticket from College Board for each exam 2 days prior to the scheduled exam day. E-tickets will be available both in an email to the student and in the student’s My AP College Board account. Students are strongly encouraged to complete the AP exam Demo available now on the College Board website to practice using the exam platform, prior to test day. This will allow students to become familiar with the platform and troubleshoot any potential issues now. Students should also access review content provided by their teachers as well as that which is available on the College Board website. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s teacher or Mrs. Norman Rogers.

    Senior Cap and Gown distribution will take place on May 13 from 9-12 in the front parking lot. Students should enter the parking lot from Ferndale Blvd between the tennis courts and the High Point Central Sign and follow the directions of the staff from there. Distribution will be set up as grab and go; therefore, students will remain in their cars. Cap and gowns must be paid in full prior to pick up. Cash only will be accepted the day of to pay the balance if one is due. Payments can be made on HerffJones.com, prior to May 13th. There is link to Herff Jones on our website.  Questions can be addressed to Mr. Holden.

    Spanish Connect Ed:  May 6, 2020

    Hola, soy el director Nixon-Green llamando desde High Point Central con algunas actualizaciones.

    Como recordatorio, las tarjetas de informe se enviaron por correo a todas las casas el lunes.  Si tiene alguna pregunta sobre cómo puede mejorar su calificación, comuníquese con su maestro.  Se compartirá información adicional sobre cómo se calcularán las calificaciones finales.

    Los exámenes AP están programados para llevarse a cabo en línea del 11 de mayo al 22 de mayo. Los estudiantes recibirán un boleto electrónico de College Board por cada examen 2 días antes del día programado del examen. Los boletos electrónicos estarán disponibles tanto en un correo electrónico al estudiante como en la cuenta de My AP College Board del estudiante.   • Senior Updates, Refunds, AP Courses

    Hello Senior Parents,  this is Dr. Nixon-Green calling from High Point Central with a few updates.

    As you know, we will not be returning to the building to continue classes this school year.  However, our teachers  and staff are committed to your student’s continued learning virtually through Canvass.

    Due to social distancing requirements, all of our senior activities have been cancelled.  But, we are working to plan virtual and alternative opportunities for our seniors.

    Cap and gown pick up will be on May 13th from 9-11:30am in the bus parking lot off Ferndale Blvd.

    The process for refunding the senior fee is in progress, additional information on when the refunds will be mailed is forthcoming.

    Yearbook distributions will occur later in May after all yearbooks have been delivered to the school.  More information will be shared soon.

    Refunds for spring athletic fees will be mailed next week.

    An email was sent to all students who are registered to taking an AP exam this year which included a mandatory AP student Questionnaire. Please make sure that your student has received and completed the survey. If your student did not receive an email from Ms. Norman Rogers, they need to contact her this week. Not receiving the email from Mrs. Norman Rogers could impact a student’s ability to take their AP exams in May. She can be reached at normanc@gcsnc.com.

    Hola Padres Mayores, este es el Dr. Nixon-Green llamando desde High Point Central con algunas actualizaciones.

    Como saben, no regresaremos al edificio para continuar las clases este año escolar.  Sin embargo, nuestros profesores y personal están comprometidos con el aprendizaje continuo de su estudiante prácticamente a través de Canvass.

    Debido a los requisitos de distanciamiento social, todas nuestras actividades senior han sido canceladas.  Sin embargo, estamos trabajando para planificar oportunidades virtuales y alternativas para nuestros ancianos.

    La recogida de gorras y batas será el 13 de mayo de 9-11:30am en el estacionamiento de autobuses de Ferndale Blvd.

    El proceso de reembolso de la tarifa de la tercera edad está en curso, se próxima información adicional sobre cuándo se enviarán los reembolsos por correo.

    Las distribuciones de anuarios se llevarán a cabo más adelante en mayo después de que todos los anuarios hayan sido entregados a la escuela.  Pronto se compartirá más información.

  • Spring Break, Laptops AP Updates

    Hello, this is Principal Nixon-Green calling from High Point Central with a few updates.

    Thank you to all that participated in our virtual spirit week, it was great to see each of you virtually.

    As a reminder, next week is Spring Break and there will be no lessons posted on Canvass as teachers will not be working.  All schools and central offices will also be closed.  We will however continue to provide our grab and go meals at High Point Central each day, except Friday, due to the holiday, from 11-noon at our cafeteria loading dock. 

    If you still need a laptop, please contact us after spring break.  We will continue to assist with devices by appointment, as they are available. 

    We just received updates on AP testing dates, that information will be posted on our webpage under parents, in the coming days and will be disseminated to students via their individual teachers, to include review information and testing dates.

    Gracias a todos los que participaron en nuestra semana de espíritu virtual, fue genial ver a cada uno de ustedes virtualmente.

    Como recordatorio, la próxima semana es Spring Break y no habrá lecciones publicadas en Canvass ya que los profesores no estarán trabajando.  Todas las escuelas y oficinas centrales también estarán cerradas.  Sin embargo, continuaremos proporcionando nuestras comidas para llevar en High Point Central todos los días, excepto los viernes, debido a las vacaciones, a partir de las 11 horas en nuestro muelle de carga de cafetería.
