    Connect Message September 25, 2020

    Yesterday, the board of education voted on a plan to return students to the classroom in phases. High school students will return at the start of the second semester on Jan. 20, 2021, for two days per week in person, with three days of remote learning. We are working on scheduling now and will have that information for you in the coming weeks. The high school day will be from 9:35 a.m. to 4:25 p.m.

    If you are interested in attending a virtual school instead of returning to the classroom, the deadline to register closes Monday at 5 p.m. Go to  gcsnc.schoolmint.net  to register. 

    To allow for social distancing on buses and to assess the need for transportation, we are asking all parents to fill out a transportation preference form by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 1, indicating whether or not you need transportation. This form can be found on our website at www.gcsnc.com/reopening.  If able, please consider alternate ways to transport your student to school.

    Connect Message September 25, 2020

    Ayer, la junta de educación votó sobre un plan para devolver a los estudiantes al aula por fases. Los estudiantes de secundaria regresarán al comienzo del segundo semestre el 20 de enero de 2021, durante dos días a la semana en persona, con tres días de aprendizaje remoto. Estamos trabajando en la programación ahora y tendremos esa información para usted en las próximas semanas. El día de la escuela secundaria será de 9:35 a.m. a 4:25 p.m.
    Si usted está interesado en asistir a una escuela virtual en lugar de regresar al aula, la fecha límite para registrarse cierra el lunes a las 5 p.m. Vaya a gcsnc.schoolmint.net para registrarse.

    Para permitir el distanciamiento social en los autobuses y evaluar la necesidad de transporte, estamos pidiendo a todos los padres que completen un formulario de preferencia de transporte antes de las 5 p.m. del jueves 1 de octubre, indicando si necesita o no transporte.   • Internet Hubs, NHS, Senior Parade, Yearbooks

    Connect Ed –Messages Sunday, September 13, 2020

    High Point Central will be one of the GCS internet hubs available to students with limited internet access.  The internet hub will be open on a first come, first serve basis on Saturday, September 12 and 19 from 9 am to 12 noon in the media center with a limit of 30 students allowed on campus.  Students need to bring their own devices, wear a mask, maintain the appropriate social distance, and will have their temperature taken prior to participating in the internet hub.

    Senior Applications for National Honor Society are currently available.  The deadline is  October 2nd.  Any senior with a 3.3 or higher is eligible to apply.  The application will be available on our webpage on, starting Monday under the student page and send to students via REMIND and through announcements on Canvass. 

    Our PTO will be sponsoring a senior parade on Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 pm.  Seniors are asked to drive up Ferndale Boulevard from Rotary Drive, make a left in front of the tennis courts and a left to drive back down Ferndale Boulevard. High Point Police Department will assist with this event.

    Yearbooks are on sale for $65 plus tax until September 25th. Yearbooks can be purchased at www.Jostens.com.  Additional information will be on Canvas.

    Virtual school registration has been extended through September 25, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

    Conectar Ed –Mensajes Domingo, 13 de septiembre de 2020

    High Point Central será uno de los centros de Internet GCS disponibles para estudiantes con acceso limitado a Internet.  El centro de Internet estará abierto por orden de llegada los sábados 12 y 19 de septiembre de 9 am a 12 mediodía en el centro de medios con un límite de 30 estudiantes permitidos en el campus.  Los estudiantes necesitan traer sus propios dispositivos, usar una máscara, mantener la distancia social adecuada y tendrán su temperatura tomada antes de participar en el centro de Internet.

    Las Solicitudes Senior para la Sociedad Nacional de Honor están disponibles actualmente.  La fecha límite es el 2 de octubre.  Cualquier persona de la tercera edad con un 3.3 o superior es elegible para aplicar.  La aplicación estará disponible en nuestra página web en, a partir del lunes en la página del estudiante y enviar a los estudiantes a través de REMIND y a través de anuncios en Canvass. 

    Nuestra PTO patrocinará un desfile para personas mayores el jueves 17 de septiembre a las 6:00 pm.  A los ancianos se les pide que conduzcan hasta Ferndale Boulevard desde Rotary Drive, hacer una izquierda frente a las canchas de tenis y una izquierda para conducir de nuevo por Ferndale Boulevard. El Departamento de Policía de High Point ayudará con este evento.

    Los anuarios están a la venta por $65 más impuestos hasta el 25 de septiembre. Los anuarios se pueden comprar en www.Jostens.com.

  • Meals, Laptop Requests, Remind

    Meals will now be available on a “grab and go” basis from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday-Friday, at all GCS schools. Students attending High Point Central do not have to pay for breakfast or lunch.  You also do not have to go to the school your children attend to pick-up meals, which include lunch and breakfast for the following day.

    If your student does not have a laptop or is unable to logon successfully to canvas, please contact us at 336-819-2825 so we can assist you with getting work packets.

    The Remind App will be continued to be used by High Point Central Support staff to communicate with families. If you have not already joined, please join today.  The steps for joining Remind can be found on High Point Central's website under the Parent Tab. Next click on Connect with Remind and follow the instructions.

    Las comidas ahora estarán disponibles "grab and go" de 11 a.m. a mediodía, de lunes a viernes, en todas las escuelas gcs. Los estudiantes que asisten a High Point Central no tienen que pagar el desayuno o el almuerzo.  Tampoco tiene que ir a la escuela a la que asisten sus hijos a recoger las comidas, que incluyen el almuerzo y el desayuno para el día siguiente.

  • Start of School, Virtual Open House

    Connect Ed Message: August 14, 2020

    Students will log in to Canvas on Monday at 10am for their first block class.  Classes will be held remotely each day, except Wednesday, from 10-3pm.  Wednesday will be reserved for small group instruction.  Teachers will hold tutoring sessions each day,  from 9-10am and 3-4pm,  based on their individual schedules.  Students will receive detailed information on tutoring times from their teachers.  A detailed instructional calendar is now posted on our webpage under the Parent tab.  Feel free to reach out to us at (336) 819-2825 if you have any questions or if your student has trouble logging on to Canvas.  We also have a list of resources for the opening of school under our Parent tab.

    As a reminder, our virtual open house will be on Wednesday at 2pm and 6pm.  There will be a live component. The link to access the open house will be posted under our parent tab, by Monday at 4pm.

  • Parking Permits, Parent Survey, School Laptops

    High Point Central will be on its summer schedule until through Friday, Aug. 14.  During the summer schedule, we will be open to the public Monday through Thursday, 9-4pm and closed on Fridays during the summer. 

    We have postponed the sales of parking permits.  We are waiting for direction from school district before accepting applications for student parking. More information will be shared.

    Parents, we have created a survey that is posted on the HPC website that we would like you to complete. The information gathered will help us to provide meaningful feedback on the best ways we can assist you and your student to ensure success during the 2020-2021 school year. Please take a few minutes and complete it for us. It is listed in the banner on the homepage.

    Parents and students, please return your Guilford County School laptops next week, August 3-6, between the hours of 10am-2pm as they need to be updated. If you do not turn them in they will not work properly at the beginning of the school year. We will contact you about when you are able to pick up a replacement if needed before school begins on August 17.

  • ACT Cancellation

    The A C T scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday July 18 at Southern High School, has been cancelled due to continued health and safety concerns regarding group gatherings. A C T will be in touch with each individual who registered to take the A C T in order to schedule another date/time.

  • Laptop Return, Summer Remind

    Hello, this is Principal Nixon-Green calling from High Point Central High School with a few announcements.

    Students who received a laptop to complete their online assignments, should return their laptops to school next week between 10-2pm. Monday-Thursday.  If you purchased a yearbook, you can pick up your yearbook at this time as well.  Again, students can pick –up yearbooks and return laptops next week, between 10am-2pm Monday-Thursday.

    To receive communication throughout the summer and next school year, please join our REMIND app.  The steps for joining REMIND can be found on High Point Central’s website under the Parent tab.  Click More and then under C for connect with REMIND.

  • Coronavirus Phase 2 Precautions

    Hello, this is Principal Nixon-Green from High Point Central calling with an important message.

    In light of the recent news that North Carolina will remain in Phase 2 for a few more weeks, Guilford County Schools  is delaying the reopening of athletics and marching band until later in July. We hope to resume activities on July 20 if conditions allow, and we will follow appropriate guidelines at that time. We will notify you of any changes to this plan.

  • Senior Recognition Ceremony

    Connect Ed Message June 7, 2020

    Our senior recognition ceremony has been condensed to one day. The event will be held on Friday starting at 9am.  As a reminder, students with last names A- H will come between 9-11:30am.  Students with last names I-Q will come from 12:30-2:30pm and those with last names R-Z will come from 3-4:30pm.

    Students can return library books and text books Monday through Wednesday of this week from 10am-2pm at tower 2.  Seniors must turn in their laptops and books during this time to receive their diploma on Friday.

    I look forward to seeing all seniors and their families on Friday.

    Nuestra ceremonia de reconocimiento senior se ha condensado hasta un día. El evento se llevará a cabo el viernes a partir de las 9 am.  Como recordatorio, los estudiantes con apellidos A- H vendrán entre las 9-11:30 am.  Los estudiantes con apellidos I-Q vendrán de 12:30-2:30pm y aquellos con apellidos R-Z vendrán de 3-4:30pm.

    Los estudiantes pueden devolver libros de la biblioteca y libros de texto de lunes a miércoles de esta semana de 10am-2pm en la torre 2.  Las personas mayores deben entregar sus computadoras portátiles y libros durante este tiempo para recibir su diploma el viernes.
